List the parts before disassembly begins. A bed frame can include rails, slats, center supports, legs, a headboard, a footboard and storage drawers. Loose hardware becomes a safety problem when it is scattered through a carry path.

Identify the frame type

Metal folding frames, platform beds and wood rail systems come apart differently. Note the material and take photos of the corners where pieces connect. If the frame has powered or adjustable parts, share the model information you have and leave the mechanism intact for assessment.

Parts inventory

  • Headboard and footboard
  • Side rails and center rail
  • Slats or platform panels
  • Legs, brackets and loose fasteners
  • Drawers, shelves or attached storage

Keep a safe work area

Remove bedding and nearby objects. Make room on at least one side of the bed for tools and separated parts. Put screws and brackets in a container instead of leaving them on the floor.

Do not force fasteners that are stripped, painted over or under tension. A removal provider may need to inspect the connection before deciding how to proceed.

Explain what is already done

Tell the provider whether the mattress and box spring have been removed and whether the frame is assembled. Photos of the full frame and the exit route give more context than a product name alone.

The bed removal page explains the service scope and estimate factors. Include every frame piece in the request, even small rails that seem easy to carry.
